About The Team

Coopers & Lybrand (C&L), now known as Price Waterhouse Coopers, was engaged by New Hampshire Yankee to evaluate, select and implement commercially available software to perform the accounting functions of this New England Utility. While New Hampshire Yankee (NHY) was completing the construction of one of the largest nuclear power plants in the country, management began to address the financial and accounting concerns for operation and control of the facility. It quickly became apparent that a full range of accounting systems was required to meet the demands to effectively operate the large facility and for supplying the necessary financial and operations data to its owners and the Federal and regulatory bodies. The project had to be completed by the time the power plant was ready to produce electricity.

Using these requirements, C&L helped New Hampshire Yankee select packaged application software for purchasing, accounts, payable, capital projects, general ledger, fixed assets and payroll. The systems selected, however, could neither meet all of NHY’s requirements nor work in conjunction with each other without custom development. Therefore, the implementation phase of the project had to address both installing and tailoring various application software modules and integrating these modules into a total system solution.

In response to this situation, Coopers & Lybrand assembled a project team of more than fifty five consultants who possessed the skill, knowledge and experience to effectively implement these systems and who could develop the software needed to deliver a complimentary set of systems as a complete financial control and accounting system. The staff’s in-depth knowledge of the vendor’s software, as well as the extensive development experience allowed the project team to creatively define the total architecture of the system in a timely and expeditious manner and complete the project on time and within the budget agreed to in advance.

This site is all about those team members who worked long hours and were very dedicated and committed to the goals set forth and the project’s success. It is a way of staying in-touch with each other through the new media… the Internet and the World Wide Web.
